Restore your metals to mirror shine.

Road salt, diesel exhaust and red clay dust leave a dull layer on aluminium that no amount of washing removes. Okie Shine cuts through the oxidation and brings the metal back until it reflects clearly again.

The finish

You can tell a real polish because it reflects you back.

A mirror finish is not a cleaner version of a dull one. It is a different surface — multi-stage machine work down to ultra-fine polish. Brushed gives a uniform directional grain that hides the week better on a working truck. Both are on the menu.

What actually gets polished

Four surfaces, named by the people who polish them.

This is a customer's truck, photographed as it left. Every plane below is on their service sheet, and each one takes a different compound.

  1. Stacks

    Exhaust stacks

Stacks go brown and streaked from exhaust heat. Polished back, they read silver again from the road.

  2. Tanks

    Fuel tanks

The biggest curved surface on the truck, and the one that shows oxidation first.

  3. Wheels

    Wheels

Aluminium wheels come back to factory brightness. On a tri-axle that is a lot of surface.

  4. Bumpers

    Bumpers

Bare or coated aluminium and stainless only. Polishing will not pull a dent or replace missing chrome.

Before the compound

Half the job happens before anything gets polished.

Trucks around here carry a mix of red clay dust and highway salt. If that is still on the metal when the compound goes on, it gets dragged across the surface and scratches the thing you are trying to fix. So the first pass is a thorough clean, then every surface gets inspected for corrosion or deep oxidation before the finer stages are worth starting.

Common questions

What people ask before they book.

Aluminum polishing uses multi-stage machine polishing with specialized compounds to remove the oxidized layer and restore the metal's natural shine. At Okie Shine, we work through progressively finer abrasives to achieve a mirror finish on fuel tanks, wheels, bumpers, and stacks.

A mirror finish creates a highly reflective, glass-like surface ideal for show trucks and high-visibility trailers, while a brushed finish produces a uniform directional grain with subtle sheen. Mirror finishes require more polishing stages but deliver maximum visual impact. Brushed hides the week better on a working truck.

Saltwater-exposed boat metals like aluminum rails and stainless cleats should be polished and protected every 6 to 12 months to prevent aggressive corrosion. Frequent rinsing helps, but professional polishing removes salt deposits and oxidation that washing cannot reach.

Yes. Even severely faded aluminum siding on freight, utility, and box trailers can be restored through oxidation removal and professional polishing. The process eliminates dull, chalky buildup and brings back the metal's reflective appearance.

Cost depends on the number of polished components, the metal's condition, and whether oxidation or corrosion removal is needed. There is no fixed price list — describe the vehicle and you get a straight answer.

Ceramic coatings are most effective on painted surfaces. For polished aluminum, we recommend specialized metal sealants that preserve the mirror finish without affecting the raw metal's appearance.
